WTTW: GOD'S WORD

SUNDAY

Psalm 95:6

Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

GOD'S WORD: John 9:1-12 “A Man Born Blind”

"SEEN THROUGH LIGHT"

PARAPHRASE

When the disciples asked Jesus if the cause of a man’s blindness was either his or his parent’s sin Jesus told them the man was born blind so that God’s work would be visible in his life. He told them they were to do the work of God who sent him as the light of the world while he was here because when he was crucified they wouldn’t be able to do the work of God during that time.

Picking up clay and spitting in it, Jesus blessed the man as he applied the mud to his eyes before then telling him to wash it off in the Pool of Siloam. After doing this he was able to see.

Those who knew him started questioning if he was really the blind beggar. Some thought he wasn’t stating that he only looked like him. However, he proclaimed that he was the blind beggar. And when they asked him how he was able to see he told them what Jesus had done and said and how he had followed his instructions. When they asked him where Jesus was he told them he didn’t know.
