“Betrayal: Prediction, Signal & Instruction”
Paraphrase
Jesus lets his disciples know he’s not referring to all of them when he says one of them is going to betray him in fulfillment of a prophecy in the Psalms that says, “He who shared my bread has turned against me.” However, he tells them when this prophecy is fulfilled not only will they believe who he is but anyone who accepts their testimony about him will believe who he is and that his Father sent him.
Staring at one another and not knowing who he was talking about, Peter told John to ask Jesus directly who among them was going to betray him. Jesus answered John by dipping a piece of bread in a dish and giving it to Judas Iscariot who Satan entered as soon as he took it.
Telling Judas to go quickly to do what he was planning, the other disciples didn’t understand why Jesus said this to him thinking Judas had been asked to go buy something for the festival or to give something to the poor. After taking the bread Judas went out into the night.

Our Father, We Pray that we who come to Your Table, to share in His Body and Blood, would always be protected from Satan, that he could never enter in and that we would never again enter into the night.

Amen.
